SOUTH FAYETTE FOOTBALL
Joe Rossi
Head Football Coach
May 13, 2007
Dear Parents,
My name is Joe Rossi, and I will be your son's head football coach this season. I am excited to begin my tenth year as both a teacher and football coach and equally enthused about the opportunity to work with your son.
I have begun this year the same way I do every year with a renewed commitment in providing my student athletes with both an opportunity to learn and develop into quality individuals. I want you to know that I am concerned about the welfare and development of your son, as I know you are. However, as a football coach, I am concerned with the welfare and progress of many athletes. I will never make concessions or sacrifice my principles or those of the team for the sake of one person; because I feel when you do make concessions, you sacrifice the very things you are trying to teach.
My goal as a football coach is to help my players believe in themselves and enable each athlete to reach his highest potential. I will interact in a positive manner with all team members and instill a feeling of self-belief by giving each athlete an opportunity to succeed on the team.
There is little doubt that the game of football develops the mind as well as the body. The coming season will give your son an opportunity to improve his self-esteem, become a more responsible young man, and learn to interact cooperatively with others. These are all qualities that these young men will need to possess later in life.
I hope to see you actively involved in the South Fayette Lion’s program as we strive for excellence. Enclosed is a tentative summer calendar that emphasizes the important dates. I hope you take the time to go over it with your son because it is very important that they become actively involved to grow both mentally and physically for the upcoming season. I also plan on having a parent meeting to go over the rules and regulations as the season nears. Parents are encouraged to become actively involved in the South Fayette Touchdown Club which will provide needed materials for the upcoming season. Once again, thank you for your time, and feel free to call with any questions concerning your son or the program.
Sincerely:
Joe Rossi
