- Problems with viewing our Pictures? -
Several individuals have approached me saying that they cannot view the action pictures we have for both the middle school and high school. The usual problem and fix can be many, but the normally it is some type of control on your computer saying that you cannot view certain type pictures, etc... This can be caused by a firewall, anti-virus setting or simply a setting change on your options for Internet Explorer. Additionally if trying to view these pictures from let say work, your IT (Information Technology) Department may also place control to limit your viewing of these as well.
Below is a hyperlink to Microsoft that describes the problem and gives several type fixes depending where your computer lays. Good Luck and we hope you get this resolved so that you can look at some fantastic photo's.

- We need your HELP High School Parents! -
We are well on our way thru the season however we are still in need of people to help with the 50/50 sales at home games.
For those who attend the touchdown club meetings you know the importance of volunteering your time and why - however for those who have scheduling conflicts and haven't had a chance to attend then here is the scoop:
In short EVERYTHING your High School player receives short of his uniform, equipment and transportation to and from away games is provided by the Touchdown Club. The only exception in part is the away team camp enrollment that is paid every year by each player, however the transportation to the camp is paid for by the club.
What your player receives normally is:
Transportation to the summer away camps
Two hot meals and snacks for the entire week of 3-a-day practices
Hoagies (or similar) sandwiches and/or a soda or Gatorade for all away games (Varsity, JV and Middle School)
Shirts and/or incentives for completing the summer camp or 3-a-day practices
Cold weather South Fayette jacket for all two year returning players.
Action photo's of all home games
High-light video representing the entire season.
A banquet - all players (not family members) are paid for
Team & Individual gifts
Miscellaneous items such as a new stereo for the locker room for your player to enjoy.
A web site for all to enjoy and gain news and information from.
Programs for home games
etc...
etc...
Now to explain how we afford all this - three guesses but you will only need one! Yes it is fund raising and volunteering time to fund-raise and help out. This includes our annual Steeler Nation Raffle, concession stand, Program ad sales, 50/50, etc... We have over 50 players this year and it takes a grand effort to support our Lions - from everyone!
Therefore, for those of you who have helped out by rolling up your sleeves and getting involved with the concession stand, 50/50, etc... we salute and thank you - HOWEVER if you are one who has not volunteered your time to help out now is the time - we need you! Right now we have a need for 50/50 help at our last two home football games possible concession stand help and committee participants for the high school banquet
If you have not donated your time yet in helping out with the 50/50 sales I ask you to contact Tom McElhinny at TheMcElhinnys@cs.com . Tom would love to hear from you.
For the concession stand please contact Kathy Reid at 64alijosh@comcast.net
Additionally we also need folks to volunteer to be on the banquet committee this year. We are looking for at least one parent from each grade (9th - 12th) to participate on this committee and help out coordinating the banquet. This includes the logistics of the banquet, gifts, awards, etc.... If you ever wanted to get involved with this - now is the time. Please contact Tracey Valko at tvalko@comcast.net to express your interest.
If we don't have enough people to cover the 50/50 or concession stand and you haven't volunteered your time yet you can expect a phone call from one of the board members asking for your help directly. I can say with passion that it is only fair to spread the wealth if you know what I mean :-)
The bottom line is this. If you son enjoys what I have outlined above then you have to not only sell raffle tickets and program ads, etc... but volunteer your time as well. We have over 50 players and collectively there should be at least 50 - 100 parents to spread the help request out to .
Okay - I will get off my soap box now, however I hope everyone understands what our intentions are. We don't ask that you spend the entire game working, just a very small part of it - and for only one home game if everyone get involved. If not then really nobody suffers except the players to include the possibility of being singled out!
Thanks and we appreciate your concern and help.
- Touchdown Club to have UPMC Sport Performance speak at November meeting -
At our next TD Club meeting, scheduled for Sunday - October 8th we will be hosting guest speakers from the UPMC Sport performance program. The guest speakers will be Ron DeAngelo, Tim Greisser and Matt Donovan. All three gentlemen are assigned to our program at S.F. to deploy the sport philosophies of UPMC. Our speakers will be over viewing the strength and conditioning program for South Fayette focusing on the football program. This will be a time to get any questions, comments or concerns you may have regarding the strength program and how it relates to your player and the overall football program at South Fayette answered. Additionally I am sure everyone attending will probably learn something new about sports performance and what our players can be doing off-season to become bigger, stronger and faster athletes.
- Action Pictures of Middle School against Moon added -
Thanks to Susan Mortensen we again have great action shots of our Middle School Lions playing Moon. Please visit the Middle School section under pictures to view.
- Coaches discount card information -
We need your continued help. We still have many outstanding cards left and we need you and your player to continue selling these cards. Please don't turn in a packet that hasn't been opened - please try and sell them. The cards are a great value and well worth the $10.00 asking price. Remember that our events and activities are funded by "fund-raising" so if your player likes receiving shirts, banquets, hoagies, drinks, etc... then we need your help in selling the cards and other fun and worthwhile fund-raisers we ask you to participate in.
Thanks....
